"Travelin' Prayer" by Billy Joel
The first track off the Piano Man album, his second. It feels honest, sincere...and it has a certain admirable goofiness. It's always been a real toe-tapper for me and a great way to start my third favorite Billy Joel album (the first two being The Stranger and Glass Houses)

You sound almost apologetic. This is a classic, what's to be ashamed of liking it for?
I try to imagine what these songs must sound like to someone who's never heard them before. I'm pretty sure any uninitiated listening to this would think me weird for liking it. :-)
Billy Joel's my favorite artist after The Beatles but that doesn't mean he hasn't written some silly-sounding stuff over the years.
